Anderson, Fibre/SAN devices are presented to the O/S as SCSI devices.
Have a look at the Linux chapter of the Device Config Guide: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/290200.htm

Once all is fine as per above-mentioned guide, ensure that you have the latest Device Mappings installed: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/351807.htm

I think your drives are not configured properly in operating system.

Please include the following details any time you make a post:

NetBackup version
Operating system of master and any media servers

If unix os, do you see any details in the messages file pointing to issues with your drives?

If windows, do you see anything in the event viewer with similar details?

What is the OS type of your media server?

rjrumfelt has a good question, have you run configuration on the media server - do the tape drives show up on that server... must be on the server before you can add via NB.

Are you using SS0?  if you already have the drives assigned on one server and do not have SSO setup you cannot add them to a second server.
If the drives are SAN fiber attached, have they been zoned to the media server?

Please paste output from "cat /proc/scsi/scsi" or install lsscsi using "yum install lsscsi" and post output from lsscsi.

Before installing NetBackup, prove the hardware is usable by the operating system.
