Error 41 when Master backs up itself?

All:

I have a NetBackup 5.1 MP6 Master (WS2003). It is trying to backup itself.  After some time, it fails with Error 41 - Network connection timed out.  I adjusted the Client Read Timeout from 3600 to 7200 and then to 10800 - with the same result.  When the jobs starts, it appears to enumerate every single file in the NetBackup Client Job Tracker before actually starting to write any files.   I have seen this frequently with NBU Masters that backup themselves.  

How can I get it to start writing sooner or stop it from timing out?

Bob - THANK YOU very much.  I adjusted the Client Read Timeout from 3600 to 10800 and allowed multiple data streams in the policy; the combination of both changes fixed my problem.
