NDMP Vault Duplication Help

Hello People:

I try to start using NDMP for duplicated my images using a Vault Profile from Quantum DXI DIsk to Tape. I have 1 NDMP drive configured. We set on the Duplicated tap on the Vault Profile to use this NDMP drive. When I run the Vault Profile Session, This is what I get:

I can see the tape was mounting on the tape unit drive, but nothing happend.The last step is mounting A00019 not pass to next step.

What can I check? Any Recomendations? Thanks

I check the bpstulist -U and appear the NDMP drive attached just to the Master Server. Then Why the Vault job are trying to use a media server? Maibe thats the reason why appear this message:

'fraid I've had no exposure to Vault (nor duplication for that matter!) so can't help there, so just wondering if there was a more fundamental config issue?

"Can you do "normal" NDMP backups to this drive?"

No, I receive error 213 when I try to use for a regular backup.

Message: no storage units available for use

Explanation: The NetBackup resource broker (nbrb) did not find any storage units

available for use. Either all storage units are unavailable or all storage units are

configured for On demand only. In addition, the policy and schedule does not

require a specific storage unit.

Recommended Action: Do the following, as appropriate:

■ Examine the Backup Status and All Log Entries report for the appropriate time

period to determine the policy or schedule that received the error.

■ Verify that the storage unit’s drives are not down.

■ Verify the following attribute settings for all storage units:

■ For disk storage units, the Maximum concurrent jobs is not set to 0

■ For Media Manager storage units, the Maximum concurrent write drives

is not set to 0

■ Verify that the robot number and host name in the storage unit configuration

matches the Media and Device Management device configuration.

■ Determine if all storage units are set to Ondemandonly for a combined policy

and schedule that does not require a specific storage unit. In this case, either

specify a storage unit for the policy and the schedule combination or turn off

On demand only for a storage unit.

■ If the storage unit is on a UNIX or Linux NetBackup media server, it may

indicate a problem with bpcd. Check /etc/inetd.conf on the media server to

verify that the bpcd entry is correct.

■ If the storage unit is on a Windows NetBackup media server, verify that the

NetBackup Client service was started on the Windows NetBackup media server.

We going to check the Fiber attached to my master server. I think thats the problems because I cant use a non NDMP drive (Same STU)

I going to use LCP for backup and duplicated data from DXI to tape and use Vault Profile for eject the tapes and create a catalog and reports. Thats the best option that we found.

Any better idea?
