Hi,
As part of DR procedure, we are trying to restore one of the storage group (created for DR/testing purpose: Storage group name- Test-SG and the DB name is – Test-DB) from the disk backup (DSU) to the original location of live exchange server & it keeps failing where as it’s working fine when i restore the same storage group in to Exchange RSG. Please find detailed error log below for your reference. Has anyone come across this issue...if so, please share the details to fix the problem.
Backup infra info – We have 2 windows 2008-64 bit servers running with exchange 2007-CCR setup. These two exchange servers are also configured as media servers – version 6.5.4. Active node replicates DB & logs to the passive node. Backup is being performed from the passive node & also enabled for GRT backup on its local disk.

Hi,
From the guide it would seem you should restore the active node, not the passive.
This is from the 7.0 guide, should be the same as 6.5 (it just explains it in more detail)
■ For Exchange 2007 pre-SP1, The NetBackup Client Service must be run as a privileged domain account on each node. Otherwise, NetBackup is not properly authorized to perform dismounts or restores.
■ Issue the PowerShell command Suspend-StorageGroupCopy for a storage group before you restore that storage group.
■ Perform a database restore.
■ You may need to re-seed the cluster copy before you resume the copy.
Do the following:
■ Remove the database files, all log files, and all checkpoint files from the passive node. (If you use it, the Exchange Management Console, prompts you to perform this step.)
■ From the passive node, issue the PowerShell command Update-StorageGroupCopy.
See How to Seed a Cluster Continuous Replication Copy for more information: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124706.aspx
Issue the PowerShell command Resume-StorageGroupCopy to properly resume the cluster copy.

Have you tried to investigate this error message?
"Before you can restore a Microsoft Exchange LCR or CCR database, you must use the Exchange Management Shell to suspend replication."

Hi,
Are you restoring to the original location? Why does the log say this....
"Beginning restore from server sspmailprd52 to client sspmailprd21"

The source makes no difference to the restore.
