any option to find out all the hosts and media servers connected to it .?

hi all,

    We are using netbackup 6.5 .Is there any option to find out all themedia servers connected to the perticular host .If it is possible to pull this info it would be helpful for our daily activitys ..

nbemmcmd -listhosts -verbose

The output saying 'Active for...' says that the media server is connected to / communicating with the master.

What do you mean by "particular host"? Are you referring to the master server or a client? If master then follow Marianne's post.

 

If you're referring to a client then you'll have to open the client's host properties > Server Properties > Media servers. The servers in this listed are allowed to backup the client (or connect to it). There might be more than one server here so then you'll have to examine the policies for the client and take note of the storage unit.

 

The storage unit ultimately dictates which media server will contact the client and do the backup. The storage unit might be set to any available which means that any of the servers in the media server list could be the one to do the backup (not really helping with your query).
