bpimagelist command fails

marcymarc24

When trying to run bpimagelist command I get the following error...

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpimagelist: Invalid argument

From the GUI under client reports I get....

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpimagelist: cannot execute (Status 1)

I've checked the admin log but can't see any errors.  This is only a recent problem and its been ok before.

I have a 6.0.6 master server on Solaris 10.

Any help appreicated.

-Marc

Please check file size/permissions on the file (ls -l).

I have seen a situation where a user (with root access) navigated to the admincmd folder and did something like the following:

./bpimagelist -some-options > bpimagelist

This obviously resulted in an empty file called bpimagelist ...

Fortunately there were media server on the same O/S and and NBU version where we could copy the file from.

Any upgrades failed or otherwise?

I would ask you for the command options you are using but as you say it also errors out in the GUI client reports then it seems a little more fundamental.

Can you clarify you NetBackup version(s)? "6.0.6 master server" does not tally!

I checked the file listing for bpimagelist and it was updated today!  Not sure by whom, noone would own up!

I just ftp'd the file from another server and all is ok now, thank you.
