Any pointers to the solution will be useful,
We are trying to search a file in netbackup catalog using below command
Master Server runs in Unix and the file that's searched belongs to Windows Lotus Domino Client - nsf mail file
The below command is returning "EXIT STATUS 227: no entity was found"
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bplist -C someclient -t 0 -l -R -s 11/01/2011 -e 11/08/2011 /
EXIT STATUS 227: no entity was found
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bplist -C someclient -t 0 -l -R -s 11/01/2011 -e 11/09/2011 /D
EXIT STATUS 227: no entity was found

The first thing that comes to mind is -t 0 which means "Standard" is that correct? Would've thought it'd be
13 MS-Windows-NT
or
25 Lotus-Notes

The valid range of dates is from 01/01/1970 00:00:00 to 01/19/2038 03:14:07. The default is the current date minus six months.
try adding the time in military format
so
-s 11/01/2011 08:00:00 -e 11/08/2011 17:00:00

I have documented some bplist examples at my website:
http://www.mass.dk/netbackup/quick-hints/75-bplist-a-handy-tool-for-the-netbackup-admin.html
The page also conatin a list of valid -t values.
Listing files from a master server
bplist -B -C host.acme.com -l -R -t 13 -s 06/05/2010 /

Other than everything already mentioned, also carefully check the spelling of the client name. It MUST match the name exactly that is in the policy.
someclient != Someclient != someclient.fqdn
