Hi,
I am currently working on a cluster solution which is based on 5-to-1 configuration in which we have one single standby server to protect the five servers. In this setup, when one of the five servers fails, its applications are moved to the standby server.
Please note that the proposed solution does not require automatic switchover of a failed server onto any other server. Only the Standby server is the failover node for any of the five servers. And the Standby Server will support only one failover at a time.
Grateful if any one can advise on the Symantec licenses required for the above.
Thank you.

You can use SFHA standard or SFHA enterprise - it depends on what features you want in Storage Foundation - see https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/documents-explain-what-detailed-features-are-availabl... which gives an overview of what features are in Enterprise license and some information on the details of each feature.

Symantec licenses are required per node - it is irrelevent how the cluster fails its services over or how many standby servers you have, so if you have 6 nodes in your cluster (5 live + 1 standby) then you need 6 VCS licences and if want to use Storage Foundation, then you need 6 SFHA licences instead.
