We have a client system that has BE11D, BE-SRO 7.0 and are unable to use the SRO to push a recovery point.

IS SQL 2005 Server supported and what is the proper installation, other than the normal install from the BE server?

Thanks..

Hello,

I was wondering if you could offer some additional information on what is meant by "unable to use the SRO to push a recovery point".

Are you saying you are unable to create recovery points of the system on which the Backup Exec System Recovery Option is installed?

Backup Exec System Recovery (including the Backup Exec System Recovery Option) uses VSS to quiesce VSS-aware database applications such as SQL 2005.

Thanks.

THey are not able to create recovery points for the SQL server.  Backup Exec is not installed to that server.

They have eight servers and all, except the MS SQl 2005 server are able to create recovery poiunts.

Thanks,

Hello,

What happens when they try to create an image of the server using Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR)?  Does an error occur?  Was an error encountered while installing BESR?  Any additional details you could provide would be helpful.

Thanks.
