Hi,
I have been looking all over for information about this, but have not succeeded to find any.
Lets say I'm having a very simple server enviroment.
I have 4 servers, one SBS 2008 server and three STD 2008 servers.
One of those servers is a dedicated backup server, which I want to install and manage BESR 2010 on. I want to install BESR Agents on the other 3 servers.
How is BESR licensed? Do I need extra licenses for each Agent?

How is BESR licensed? Do I need extra licenses for each Agent?
Yes. BESR is licensed per machine (server or desktop).
There is no such thing as an 'agent' license (as there is for Backup Exec). An 'agent only' install (which does not install the full GUI) still requires a full license.
Hope that helps to clarify.

As mentioned by Chris, it is correct that there is no such thing as an 'agent' license (as there is for Backup Exec). An 'agent only' install (which does not install the full GUI) still requires a full license.
But licensing is different.
BESR licensing
For Server OS - per server license
For Desktop OS - per single license 5 desktops
Also for SMB 2008 licensing is per server but the different line item & you will receive different license key. So while purchasing please mention that you have one SMB 2008 & 3 STD 2008 servers.
Regarding installation, if you have only 4 servers I will suggest you to install full BESR on 4 servers & you manage it from BESR console which you install on Backup server. No need to install BESR Manager.
