Symantec System Recovery 2011 Management Solution

I have downloaded Symantec System Recovery 2011 Management Solution from fileconnect and when attempting to install it on a Windows Server 2008 R2 (SP1) server am getting an error stating unsupported Operating System or Service Pack message.

This is only a test system so I have uninstalled SP1 and now Symantec System Recovery 2011 Management Solution installs without problem.

Is Symantec System Recovery 2011 Management Solution not compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2 (SP1)?

Correct - SP1 for 2008 R2 is not supported yet.

This is being worked on already but I cannot give you an ETA yet I'm afraid.

I installed Symantec System Recovery Management Solution 2011 on Server 2008 R2 and then went through the Symantec Installation Manager, selected the component that I want and met the Readiness. After the installation I was able to install Server 2008 R2 SP1. So far everything works fine. Do not install IE 9 as the SSRMS 2011 GUI will not function.

Thanks,

Niles

You need SP2 installed on Windows 2003 before you can install SSR-MS:

Erm, no. They are 2 different products so this cannot be done.

Is this available yet?  Support documentation still indicates no SP1 support.  Last post indicated "soon" in Aug.
