Looking for feedback on Encryption

I see with ver 11 encryption is now an option with either AES 128 or 256 and it can be applied on backups to tape.  Is anyone doing this or tested it?  Just wondering how much of a performance hit it makes and how reliable it is?  Any other drawbacks or issues that have popped up?

I recently started using encryption on our backups.  It doesn't seem to take much longer for the backups to completed but it does take a lot more space on the tapes.  Now that the contents are encrypted, it is not able to compress the data at all.  That is the only drawback I've noticed so far.
