OST for MSDP?

Hi,

I would like to confirm when to use OST plug-in.

We are planning to deploy a Media Server (lenovo x3550) with IBM Storwize as storage and will be configured as MSDP. Please confirm that we don't need an OST for this one.

If the IBM will be presented as normal, local disk to be configured as MSDP pool, then there is nothing else to install. NBU server binaries contain everything you need for MSDP. Please read through the MSDP admin guide to ensure all requirements are met. Preparation is key to success. OST is only needed for 3rd-party dedupe appliances that are listed in the HCL.
