Here the problem is as we can see backup happened on 02/15/2014 08:49 is full & backup happened on 02/25/2014 03:33 cumulative incremental
H drive is corrupted & request was raised by customer to restore it on Y location of the server Y drive is of 1 TB we followed below things
- made Y as raw partition after flasbackup restoration it become size of 700 GB i.e it resized himself to actual backed up raw image size of H drive which is normal
- now only 69 GB is free on Y drive & I want to restore cumulative incremental of 02/25/2014 03:33 & i am confused that how to do this since server team unable to expand drive partition since it is acquired & recreated
Point 1 - since 02/25/2014 03:33 backup is schedule Type- Cumulative Incremental Backup which i need to restore do i need raw partition ?
Point 2 - Is this possible to restore in Y drive with NTFS partition formatted ?
What is the best way to restore Full Backup + Cumulative combination ? did i made mistake in method ? please suggest

For point 1: FlashBackup incrementals must be restored as file backup. You need to do raw partition restrore from full backup before.
For point 2: YES. You can restore full and incrementals as file backup to any location. Do not do raw partition restore in this case.

Hi Nagalla,
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH53111
followed above TN accrording to that it will resize yes used space of H drive was around 700 GB
but what about rest of the 300 GB since Y drive was of 1 TB server team unable to expand that partitian
Hi Yasuhisa,
exactly here i done full on RAW restoration & incrimental as file backup

Raaavan,
you are in correct track...
sicne the actaul size of the H Drive is 700 GB, restore did make it to 700 GB.
so at any point of time Data size in in H drive should not be more than 700 GB.. so you are good to go with the incrmental restores.. to Y drive which is having the more 69 GB free space.
