@criley can we update VSR-MS to SMP 8.1 or does we need to stay at 8.0 HF6?

@Markus_Koestler

As per the compatibility list I shared above, only SMP 8.0 is supported at this time. Support for 8.1 is planned for a future release.

Hope this helps.

One more question @criley: Am I getting it right, that there is no VSR-MS 2016 SP2 yet?

@Markus_Koestler

There is but it's just an updated build that includes the SP2 installer for clients. You should be able to access this via the portal.

Hi!
I´m just wondering why Veritas never inform us, who have agreement, when a new software is ready to install.

I have complained about this earlier directly to the support, but nobody seems to listen and now it´s happend again..

How should we which pay for the service/software know that there are updates if we do not access this website?

One point to add:

We are soon going to be updating our website and there will then be an option to subscribe to alerts based on your chosen product(s). This will then allow you to receive proactive updates about new articles - which will include new releases/service packs etc.

WARNING  Samsung 960 EVO SSD System won't boot after Service Pack 2 16.0.2 VSR

I installed the patch yesterday afternoon and once it completed the computer would not reboot.  Windows 10 (Fall Creator Update 2017) failed with a Stop Code:  Inaccessible Device.  It appears to me that the Samsung SSD device drivers are getting damaged by the patch.  For example, Parition Wizard could not see the SSD until I manually provided the device INF to the program.  Normally, it uses the driver on the computer.  I restored to my previous backup and everything worked again.  I had to provide the bootable VSR recovery my device driver as well.   I tried to apply the patch again, but this time, before I did a reboot, I installed the SSD driver (ran repair) to see if I could avoid the problem.  However, this did not help and the machine would again not boot.

 Any suggestions on how to install this patch?

Samsung 960 EVO (using most recent Samsung drivers)

Windows 10 -  Falls Creators update
