Partition Rollover to the same LUN

Hi all,
Im a little confused about the Partition rollover info, Im thinking of using automatic Partition rollover for say each year.
At the moment, I have one BIG LUN on the filer, and the NTFS partition is 150G (F:\Exchangestore) and it contains 1 EV partition, and if I use rollover based on Date, Can I create a new EV Partition on the same LUN?
eg.
Partition 1 = F:\Exchangestore\2010
Partition 2 =  F:\exchangestore\2011

There is no restriction to where a partition is located, only space...
