how to restore SAP backup

hi,

i read the admin guide. i have used the command

"brrestore -d util_file -b last -m full -c force"

but no success. can some one guide me wher i m wrong.

i take a backup via netbackup policy usind SAP. it runs successfully.

for restoration can i chnage the initxyz.utl file ? if yes then which line i modify.

your prompt response is highly appriciated.

For Connect Community to help you, please provide as much info as possible:

NBU version and patch level on SAP client. 
Solaris version on client.

Restore to same or alternate client?

Have you created any log folders (with 777 permissions) on SAP client as per Troubleshooting section in the manual? Can you please post those logs as File attachments?
Do you have bprd log on master server? Please post as File attachment.

You say "but no success." 

What does that mean? Are you getting any error messages? If so, please share.
Does job show up in Activity Monitor? If so, please post all text in Details tab.

Similar issues encountered under "http://scn.sap.com/thread/1404076". They reset the "system" password or enabled the SAP NBU policy as it was disabled..

thanx for your reply. yup its true my natbackup policy was deactivate. i don't know who do this. when i  activate it starts restoration.
