The lines:

Client for NFS service is either not installed or not running.
10/29/2012 02:02:12 - Info bpbrm (pid=18319) DB_BACKUP_STATUS is 0
10/29/2012 02:02:20 - Error bpbrm (pid=18319) from client dagb: ERR - Error encountered while attempting to get additional files for Microsoft Information Store:\DAGB_NorthRegion\Logs_1351454490\
10/29/2012 02:02:20 - Error bpbrm (pid=18319) from client dagb: ERR - Exchange granular restore from this image may not work.

Indicate that you have selected to do GRT backups but that something is not configured correctly

You need to either not select GRT or  if you do require GRT backups then you need to work through the Exchange Admin Guide to get all pre-requisites in place

Hope this helps

Hi Armand,

Even that you folowed each step into the Exchange Admin Guide, maybe you continue with the problem with GRT, because a alert of Client NFS not estarted continue.

Try this:

Start de NFS client on Exchange DAG node, if show a message: "The Client for NFS service on local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs"

Look this link : http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/hr/winserverfiles/thread/db107ccd-aefb-4d1f-9a0b-914a9030...

what he say:

Problem Description

On boot, Client for NFS starts and remains running. If an attempt is made to restart the service from the MMC or nfsadmin, an error occurs and nfsclnt fails to start.

Event log error:

==================================================================

Log Name:      Application
Source:        NfsClnt
Date:          7/7/2011 2:39:51 PM
Event ID:      16387
Task Category: None
Level:         Error
Keywords:      Classic
User:          N/A
Computer:      myserver
Description:
Windows(R) failed a request to initialize the Network File System (NFS) redirector <[d:\w7rtm\base\fs\remotefs\nfs\client\nfsclient\service.c:199] : 0: The operation completed successfully.
>.

  Client for NFS cannot start.

Windows may be low on system resources.  Try increasing available system resources by closing programs, then start Client for NFS manually.
==================================================================

PROBLEM CAUSED BY: When shutting down Client for NFS using the Services GUI, Client for NFS Redirector is not shut down

SOLUTION: Stop NFS Redirector - 'sc stop NfsRdr' - Then start NFS client service - 'nfsadmin start client'

Use 'nfsadmin client stop' to correctly shut down both the Client for NFS service and the Client for NFS Redirector.

'Network File System (NFS) redirector' is actually "Client for NFS Redirector" and not listed as a service even though "Client for NFS" requires it.

Using 'sc', details on the hidden NfsRdr system component can be queried and then used to stop the redirector so that nfsclnt.exe can reload it on start up using the Services GUI.

C:\Windows\System32>sc GetDisplayName NfsRdr
[SC] GetServiceDisplayName SUCCESS
Name = Client for NFS Redirector

C:\Windows\System32>sc qdescription NfsRdr
[SC] QueryServiceConfig2 SUCCESS

SERVICE_NAME: NfsRdr
DESCRIPTION:  Kernel-side part of Client for NFS. Enables a Windows based computer to access NFS server shares

************************

After you can started de Client NFS service with sucess, try again the backup with granular enable.
