I need a solution !

Netbackup Version : 7.1.0.3

OS :  Windows Server 2008

Problem  : Snapshot error encountered(156) during System State Backup was reported.

Backups are failing for  a few Windows 2008 client with status code 156

A Backup with "system state" as the only backup selection still results in the same error

Check the state of your VSS writers (vssadmin list writers) - if any are not in a normal state then reboot the server to get it stable again

Also worth checking for VSS Rollup Packages from Microsoft - there are a few for Windows 2000 and can help with this type of issue

Has it ever worked or has it suddenly stopped working?

Always worth keeping up to date so 7.1.0.4 wouldn't hurt either

Hope this helps

also plese go though this below T/N and make sure that there is not issues in VSS level. if you find something you need to fix that before looking into the netbackup level.
